HEY FAMDAMILY

Well, another transfer has come to an end and I am entering the final passage of this great journey. My companion Elder Robinson was moved to GuiShan which is on the other side of the island. I probably won't see him till the day I get on the airplane. 

I enjoyed thoroughly my time with him. In one way it was one of the hardest 2 transfers of my mission because he was my first honest and bold companion. He was the only one so far that would really correct me. He would tell me when I was wrong and he would not let it go. IT HURT, but I grew a lot and learned how to take criticism a lot better. I think I am still working on all those small things, but I have definitely learned a lot. I love him a lot. He is one of my brothers till I die.

My new companion is Elder Luther. Elder Luther is the closest I have seen anyone get to me as far as interests go. HE IS THE BEST! We get along really well and just have a good time every day. We have seen a ton of miracles already together. 

One of the coolest was we were finding on bikes in a small relaxed city in our area and I waved at this girl but she just kept walking so my comp was like "we'll have none of that!" and he just chased her down and she is super cool! 

We had a super smooth lesson with her, her name is Su Ti Xuan, and then the next day she attended church for all three hours, stayed after talking with people till we left and then at 6:15 met up with us at the MRT station and we took a group to the temple square chapel and attended the monthly fireside for all Recent Converts and investigators. IT WAS AWESOME. When we got there she turned to me and was like "this place is beautiful." It was super great. She is super cool. Super cool end of the week miracle. Super.

We are pumped for this new transfer and I am super stoked to be finishing it with Elder Luther. Elder Sumsion who lives with me grew up with Elder Luther and we are all super great friends. IT IS SO MUCH FUN EVERYDAY!!

Super sun burnt all week.

This week is my birthday! 

We had a great week this last week and saw a lot of big miracles with our zone. We have had to do a few baptismal interviews and have more coming up this next week and then we have some baptisms coming up which is super exciting! 

It is a wonderful time to be serving in the South Zone. It is weird that the transfer is ending so fast! It feels like it just started and I don't appreciate that feeling. I feel like we never have enough time in a day but also that if we had more time I would probably pass out. 

We have two baptisms in our ward this week and we are stoked about that. Both investigators were mostly taught by my companion and I. So it is fun for us to see them both make it to the starting line safely. My companion is a great guy. He loves to give me hugs and stuff which is nice to keep up a loving relationship. 

I love this area! We are seeing miracles everyday. It is hard to keep up the energy all the time but I find that even though we are doing some tired finding it is still smart finding and is producing some great results. 

Recently we have found a lot of super cool people, and we are super excited to keep it up in this wonderful area. 

Seeing that this will probably be my last area, it is sort of interesting to see myself in a different light. I always looked up to the older missionaries and now since I am undeniably the older missionary, I feel like my every effort is looked at as the right thing, so I have to always be trying my hardest. 

I have learned a lot about just being positive on exchanges and I have found through just listening and being happy I can help a lot more than trying to be more aggressive in recommending ways to improve.

Today we are playing board games because it is really rainy, but last week was cool. We hit up the biggest museum in Taiwan and it was super boring! BUT still I have no regrets because I think it was cool to learn a little more of Taiwan's culture. Unlike most art museums this one was mostly just ancient artifacts. Mostly really old pots and other things of no use. 

It was fun to be with friends but I think I have something wrong with my legs. Standing too long is really hard. I have to sit most of the time unless I am biking. So maybe one day my beautiful future wife will get to tow me around in a sick future chair or I will just get robot legs.

I am doing great though. Our week was very good. Though I am very tired. I fall asleep whenever I sit down unless I am doing something that requires movement. A few ward members have offered me some vitamins and stuff which was nice of them. One of them said she is bringing me fish oil tablets and I am grateful for that. I am usually pretty awake when we are out biking around so don't worry about me. 

I have a goal to finish the Book of Mormon in Chinese and I have been reading about 10 pages a day for the last week or so. I will be finished in about 3 weeks which I am excited about.

We have a baptism coming up soon which is exciting and we are working hard to keep our area ablaze. It has been cool seeing a lot of improvement in our investigators, members and missionaries in our zone. 

I have also seen a lot of change in myself and I am so grateful for the miles that my Savior has carried me through the last 2 years.

Shuttlecock

We caught a little beetle this morning and named him shuttlecock. But he wanted to go, and we felt it best to respect his choices so we threw him out the window.

We had a baptism on Saturday and it was awesome. Alex Huang is a homie. He was super excited to get baptized and even bought some new clothes so he could looks fresh.

He bought us dinner and then we had a photo shoot which he was super happy to flex for. Haha

This week was awesome. It is always so rewarding to see people change through the gospel. I think that is the biggest blessing of the mission. It is wonderful! 

Sorry for the short note. We are heading on a bike ride soon, but I love all of you!

Tom is a great guy. We were contacting on the streets on day when we met Tom. He was super nice but a little timid and seemed pretty apprehensive as well. But he was willing so we met with him. Multiple times. The first time he was pretty quiet and not to receptive but we kept sharing and he opened up a little bit. He expressed his worries and doubts for his family and their safety. We were able to use the gospel to guide him to the realization that he could, through Christ, have peace. 

After meeting with him about 4 times he confided in my companion on the side that he had already been baptized. This often occurs because there are a lot of christian churches in Taiwan, so we weren't surprised. We asked "was it in our church?" He said it was not and we told him that next time we would talk about why he can and needs to be baptized again. So we met again and boy did we pound it. We taught all we knew about prophets, authority of the Priesthood and the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and he just would not budge. We found our words had no effect. 

He kept saying "I am already baptized!" and asking why he needed to get baptized again. We followed up with other questions and eventually in a moment of frustration he blurted, " I AM ALREADY A MORMON!".... My companion's and my eyes met  and we both started laughing. Our ward mission leader, who was present for the lesson also started laughing and we all had a good long chuckle. Thus we met Tom the L.A. (less active). 

Also, a sister missionary got stressed this week and ran away. She was gone for like 5 hours and no one knew where she was. She is fine now I guess but it was really unusual. She is super intense and is having a hard time because she got put into an area that is kind of struggling. We are trying to help her. But she is kind of a tough case. Wish us luck! We are focusing on charity with her. 

Good vibes bring it all full circle. We must have love and joy when we come in contact with God’s children to have good vibes.
